Villages at Roll Hill

A Shining Example of the Power of Affordable Housing Rehabilitation

Completed ahead of schedule and $2 million under budget, today Roll Hill is positively impacting thousands of residents’ lives.

We’re not the only ones excited about Roll Hill. The community’s renovation earned a Silver LEED certification, the nation’s preeminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings, from the United States Green Building Council. The renovation is considered the largest green renovation of an affordable housing development in the country.

The City of Cincinnati also received an Audrey Nelson Community Development awards from the National Community Development Association for the renovation, which included reducing the number of apartment units from 893 to 703, upgrading security, demolishing 17 buildings to expand green space, and adding new landscaping, trees and playgrounds. The City contributed a $3.2 million HOME loan as part of its $36 million renovation. We were proud to have US HUD Secretary Shawn Donovan attend the community’s grand re-opening.
